Couples Photoshoot at Cadover Bridge, Devon
Pre-wedding shoots are relaxed, informal and a great chance to get comfortable in front of the camera before the big day. Recently, I met up with one of my couples at Cadover Bridge in Devon, and it turned out to be such a special afternoon.
Cadover is a location I come back to time and time again for shoots, and for good reason. It has such a variety of backdrops within just a short walk – beautiful woodland trails, wide open moorland, and quiet riverside spots. It means you don’t need to plan too much in advance; we can simply wander, chat, and stop whenever the light or scenery feels right. That natural flow makes the session feel less like a photoshoot and more like spending time together outdoors. We explored the woods, found little pockets of golden light, and captured moments that felt natural and true to them.
They also brought along their dog, Luna for some extra photos of the three of them, which added so much personality to the session. She trotted happily beside us, walking through the woods, pausing for cuddles, and generally making sure she was part of the photos too.
After the shoot, I received the loveliest message from them:
“We have looked at the pre-wedding photos and I am simply in awe. Never do I EVER like photos of myself and we both think they are beautiful, thank you so much! … Your work is stunning. I’m so glad I stalked you for so long even before being engaged!”
Reading feedback like this is exactly why I love what I do. So many people tell me they’re nervous about being photographed, or that they’ve never liked photos of themselves before. A pre-wedding shoot changes that. It gives you the chance to relax, see how natural the process really is, and walk away with images you can actually feel proud of.
If you’re planning your wedding and feeling unsure about being in front of the camera, a pre-wedding photoshoot in Devon is the perfect way to take the pressure off. Whether it’s in the woods at Cadover Bridge, along the coast, or somewhere meaningful to you as a couple, it’s a relaxed, fun experience that helps you feel ready for your wedding day photos.
