What to wear for your Proposal and engagement photoshoot

Top Tips on what to wear when getting engaged.

If you're getting engaged and have decided to do a proposal / engagement photoshoot, I know the one thing you're probably thinking about right now: what to wear...and how to get your partner to secretly dress up too.

So what should you wear? The first thing to remember is that comfort is key. You want to feel like yourself in whatever you choose, but don't be afraid to go for something really special! The most important thing to remember is that you want your outfit to be flattering and comfortable.

Make sure you're dressed for the occasion. Here are my favourite tips for what to wear for your session:

1 Pick your colours wisely. Colour choice is all based on your chosen location, you want to stand out against the background, not blend in. This is especially important if your photoshoot is going to be in natural settings like forests or fields or the beach—you don't want your clothes competing with the scenery!

2 Make sure your clothes fit well and flatter your body type (no matter what size). If they're too big or too small, they'll distract from your gorgeous moment instead of adding to it!

3 Avoid logos and branding! Why? Because they can massively distract and date. Something that may seem relevant now may not in a few years time, no regrets.

4 Optional - add in an accessory like a hat or bag to enhance your style. WARNING: Large hats and sunglasses when proposing will hide the wonderful, incredible reaction so make sure they aren’t worn during the big moment!

Hot Tip: For a surprise proposal, suggest a photoshoot to your partner for a birthday or head somewhere that a (your) photographer randomly asking for your photo will seem normal - this will ensure you are both looking your best and both prepared for photos being taken whilst also throwing your partner off the scent!
