Celebrating Motherhood: A Beautiful Spring Mother and Daughter Photoshoot
There is something incredibly special about documenting the connection between a mother and her child. These moments evolve so quickly, and photographs allow families to preserve the tenderness, personality and love shared during each season of life.
At a recent outdoor portrait session, I had the pleasure of capturing the beautiful bond between a mother and daughter surrounded by the calm and charm of a stunning spring garden. With soft seasonal colours, elegant styling and natural connection, this session became a timeless celebration of motherhood and family connection.
Before heading to our outdoor location, my client enjoyed professional hair and makeup at my studio. This is always designed to help mothers feel confident, relaxed and truly looked after — something many women rarely prioritise for themselves.
We also spent time styling outfits together, carefully selecting pieces that complemented both the location and the story we wanted to capture. Having multiple outfit options allowed us to create a varied gallery while maintaining a cohesive, editorial feel throughout the session.

“I was thrilled to do this shoot with Emma. An outdoor location shoot was something I had always loved the idea of, and being my second time working with Emma, I just knew whatever she created would look amazing.
We talked through styling and location ideas beforehand, which made me even more excited. Emma was very understanding when I mentioned I wasn’t comfortable showing my stomach and made sure we styled outfits to suit me.
On the day, we started at the studio for hair and makeup which was such a peaceful experience. I was slightly worried about bringing my little girl along, but Emma made me feel completely at ease and helped entertain her throughout.
Once we arrived on location, Emma adapted one of my favourite outfits so I still felt confident wearing it. Despite other people being nearby, she kept the whole experience calm and reassuring, even when my little one wasn’t always cooperative.
