I had the privilege of capturing this beautiful family at a charming American styled diner called Dimpsy's in Plymouth Devon, serving up mouthwatering vegan delicacies, with retro tunes filling the air.

As an editorial storytelling photographer, I'm constantly seeking unique locations and moments that tell a beautiful narrative. Dimpsy's was the perfect backdrop for this family's story, a place where nostalgia and modern flair seamlessly connect. The creativity was in buckets when in the diner, it was like stepping into a time capsule, with vibrant colours, classic branding, and a sense of warmth.

Emma took the time to learn about my journey prior to the shoot in order to really tailor it to ‘me’ she even organised a vegan diner for our location shoot to reflect our family values. It was obvious that every detail was considered.””
The family, in their carefully selected outfits, radiated love and happiness. With the scent of plant friendly delights wafting from the kitchen, their smiles grew wider, and a sense of anticipation filled the air as we prepared to start the photoshoot.
We began the shoot by capturing candid shots of the family's laughter and connection around the diner and then at their booth, accompanied by the diner's iconic ✌🏻sign. The clinking of forks and the friendly chatter brought an intoxicating energy to the space. Dimpsy's was more than just a backdrop; it was an essential character in the story telling we were creating.
“The shoot itself was wonderful, I felt incredibly comfortable and supported. I had my hair and makeup professionally done which was a beautiful experience (not something us mums do often!) Emma gave me helpful guidance on poses and lots of reassurance during the process. I was surprised about how relaxed and confident I felt and that was largely down to the relaxed and comforting environment that was provided. Our family photoshoot was so much fun, we all felt very relaxed and Emma knew exactly how to get the best out of us.. even when our toddler got a little stroppy.”
