Hey Subscriber First Name Booking your wedding venue is the first and biggest step into creating your wedding day. It opens up the possibilities and creates the dreamy backdrop to your celebration. Choosing one isn’t easy and shouldn’t just be based on it’s obvious appeal, here are some things to consider that’ll help you in deciding. The space itself Visualise the venue with all of your guests. Imagine your family and friends hanging out in areas nearby and far. What are they doing? Does it work, does it make sense and easy to move around? Now picture that space with your decor, tables and chairs, band,
entertainment, flowers, displays. Access to devices and de cluttered backdrops for photos. Things can always change when it comes to decor, choirs and movement of objects affecting the space. It will always look different on the wedding to previous visits, so make sure you understand where and what space can be used.
Other things to consider is your ceremony room, formal / couples photos and speeches. There’s nothing worse than having no shelter for your reception or during your photos of you and your guests. We’re in the UK and in the UK it rains. And on the other side of the spectrum heat. We are never prepared for it, were either too cold, too wet or too hot! So a back up plan is a must, ensure that your venue caters to shaded areas and a sheltered or indoor area that can be available and clear of anything to use should you need to. ⚡️BONUS: Speeches Tip 1. Write it. Don’t wait until the last minute! You need time to nail it, rehearse it. 2. Record it. Practise what you’re saying and listen back to it. Learn to speak clearly and to project. No mumbling! 3. Time it. 10 minutes is enough time. If there are 3 speeches then that’s 30 minutes. Anymore and guests can become tired and lose interest. Make it short, snappy, to the point and entertaining! Extra Bonus 📲 Ditch the phone and read from a sheet of paper or flash cards, it looks much more appealing and less like you only just put it together..having it as a back up on your phone is fine, but even better…memorise it.
