Hey Subscriber First Name When you’ve thought about having your photo take, what’s crossed your mind before taking part? Turn up to the photoshoot…and get this over with. Do I just face the camera and smile? Let’s hope for the best there’s at least one photo in there of everyone looking at the camera.
Sound familiar? You’ll be glad to know that as an experienced portrait photographer of over 10 years, these are limiting phrases I often hear, but ones that can be quickly resolved. None of the above is going to get you what you want, an open mind and the reasons behind the photos is what will get you great photos.
Embracing the experience will will ease your mind and reflect in the story telling of your photoshoot.
What if I told you that telling a story for your photoshoot is more than just striking a pose in front of the camera. It requires careful planning, thoughtful consideration of themes and props, collaboration with your photographer, and a willingness to express genuine emotions. It may sound a lot more than simply turning up. BUT by putting in the extra energy to craft a narrative, your photos will become much more than just images; they will become visual stories that captivate and inspire. Upon looking back you’ll see the moment unfolding in real time, rather than a stiff and awkward reflection because of those original beliefs.
